Green Wins Best Blog!

I’m thrilled to announce that this little blog with the loud voice has won the New Hampshire Press Association “Better Media Contest” for best blog, non-daily category.  The award was announced and presented last night at their annual awards dinner in Manchester.

The judge for this category is a professional journalist in Vermont.  This is what he wrote in support of his decision:

It’s certainly not your typical blog, and it’s not written by a
journalist, but nonetheless there is some old school journalism to be
found here. It’s obviously opinionated, but it is honest, and contains
valuable information for readers. One wishes some more traditional
small-town publications were as feisty and lively.

Here I am with Trent Spiner, Executive Editor of the New Hampshire Union Leader:

A hearty congratulations to you, Donna! I believe that this award honoring the time, energy and quality you have put into your blog is well deserved.

You are certainly right to be very proud of this recognition.

With all seriousness aside, I am sure that when the TRSB becomes aware of this achievement there will be something a little extra in your paycheck next week.

  6. Well done Donna. Keep it up

Congrats Donna! To bad you didn’t get selected to be the PR person @ TRHS. Oh, almost forgot. They need a “Spin Doctor” to speak for Mr. Metzler and the district. After a nation wide search, you wouldn’t have qualified. Shucks
Perhaps for a 140K a year +++ we should hire a real Superintendant that can speak for himself and have the public understand what he has to say. Would that be asking to much? Oh, forgot again. We are talking about TRHS. That wouldn’t add useless increases to our tax rate.

Congrats Donna!!!!! You deserve this award. I appreciate it that you help keep me updated on what is happening in Sandown. Keep up the good work.

    • Hi Sandra, thanks for writing. Hope you are at least nice and warm. It is quite cold here now but the new Christmas lights are up on the tree and bushes in front of Town Hall looking very cherry and festive. Be well.
